Finished

 I added the borders to this quilt top and now I just gotta get a backing ready for it. I'm going to take it to my next long arm rental session I think!

 I like this quilt a lot, it is kind of an odd size though. 57X88 if you do it right, like the pattern.  I'm ,of course, a little different.

Still trying to get a better picture of the color of the feature wall color. deep sigh!

Pinterest Strikes Again!

I saw this photo on Pinterest it's from

Two Peas In A Bucket
and I thought it was such a cute idea, I knew I could do this too!

 I had this frame that has been stashed in my closet for a long time..thanks Mom!

 I kind of eyeballed where my photos would need to be and put in staples on the backside of the frame.

 I tied some string through the staples, I wasn't sure if the strings would stretch and sag, so I left some tails so I could tighten if needed.

 Then I got some of these little tiny clothes pins from Hobby Lobby.

And I test pinned some pictures to see if I had the strings placed level and fairly straight.

So I think it looks pretty good! I pinned some pictures from our trip to Yosemite National Park and the Grand Canyon I blogged about that trip here.

I sure don't like the color of my wall the way it looks in these photos. It is so much brighter!

Drive One 4 UR Community

The other thing I did today was make a donation to my local elementary school. And best of all it didn't cost me anything and I didn't have to have kids begging me to buy stuff! Thanks Ford motor Company!Ford has this program called Drive one 4 UR Community.  All you have to do is go for a test drive, fill out a paper saying what you thought of it and TaDa $20 for your community, or our elementary in this case...up to $6000! I hope they get enough folks to go on a drive!

Sponsored this event and supplied all the cars and trucks to drive and lots of signs to direct folks to the driving line.

I drove an awesome Ford Fusion. Like this one...oopsy I forgot  to take a picture. What a fun easy way to help out a good cause.

Look What I Got!

Check these out! I got two of these beautiful lazy Susan dishes.

 I love this aqua blue and white one, I bought it at a yard sale in Tiffin, and kept thinking about the blue and green one.....And went back and got it too. I'm going to put my little brads and paper fasteners and such in them.

 They are California pottery, that's what it says on the bottoms, and they both have this sweet wooden-ish lazy Susan turntable to sit on.

 

How stylish!  Great design for just $3!!

Snow???

Whoever heard of measurable snow in May!!??
 My SIL and her Hubs, were planning visit us, until they got to Wyoming, then those Californians, said "enough!"..." we are not driving in the snow!"

I was shocked. But you have to remember these are folks who have NEVER seen measurable snow on the roads. To you and me, these look like great road conditions, but to folks who have no winter....it's a highway to sure death!

Oh well, they'll soon be safely back on familiar ground!
BTW did you know you can look at traffic and road cameras for almost any state on line? Just google  the state highway department and look for the live cameras links. Here's Iowa's link.

It's Spring at Last!

 So here's the wall....really, it's much brighter than the photo shows.

 Check it out I gort a tulip!! And you know it's spring for sure when the gardener comes to mow the lawn!

I just love this gardener, she works really cheap!
