Indoor Rendezvous

Today Hubs and I went over to Marengo, Iowa to the 1800's Frontier Craft & Trade Show.

 

The blacksmith had some very nice tools for sale.

 

There were some unusual items as well.

There were folks in their 1800's mountain man, pioneer women gear. It was indoors so they were mainly engaged in smaller craft tasks and selling a lot of beads and bones and leather. I bought some shell buttons!

Thrown over the Cliff

So the fiscal Cliff has been all over the news and I am faaarrr from politically savvy. But here's what I DO understand.

See the line on my paycheck stub that says FICA? See how it was $87.08 on the last paycheck for 2012 (on the right) and see how it's $127.73 on my 1st check for 2013 (on the left)?
So I guess I'm OK with paying a little bit more into the Social Security pot-o-cash.
But I'm not OK with people I helped to elect, not doing their job to represent me. Next time I go to the polls, I'm pretty sure there will be no incumbents on my ballot.  Get out Chuck!

Merry New Year

I think I would regret it if I didn't post on the 1st day of the New Year. SO here it is!
