Target's Got a Hang Up

I was in Target the other day to get DD a birthday present and I noticed they have a lot of cool stuff hanging from the ceiling this spring.

Cool paper lantern type balls in the patio department, 

Big Easter eggs in the Easter aisles.

And this cool wave of color in the dollar area-that's more like the two fifty area-prices are going up all over the place I guess.

Oh and check this out! Edible Easter Grass.....hmmmmm, Bet the dogs would eat it.

Here we go Again

So DD and Me decided to check out the little craft show going on over at the casino in Riverside.

Loved this modern wood furniture from the Furniture Shop in Amana.



There was lots of jewelry-the usual beads in a clump and rock on a string and things dangling from earring wires. YUCK!

There was really lovely pottery. I wasn't able to get a photo of the lady who used horsehair on her pottery hot from the kiln-it was magnificent.

Love thes metal letters and signs from old-or old looking corrugated metal.

And LOVE the iron tree. Something about iron into art appeals to me. hmmmm gene pool ya think?
So after taking in all the crafts, DD thought she should go ahead and use her birthday free slot play.

Put on a happy face...well she did come out with $5 more than she started with. WINNER!!

Soup's On!

So my church's 2nd ever Chili cook off and soup supper fundraiser was a kind of a dud. But it's always good to share food with folks anyways. My spousal Unit was so good and made all of this,

Delicious vegetable soup. He roasted the vegetables, and what a bunch of vegetables there was! I told him it was good to keep his knife skills sharp....har-har yuckity yuck! He made the vegetable stock-no can or box in this baby!

We had a ton of delicious desserts-those chocolate brownies were the seriously BEST.

And we had the best contestants for the chili cook off. Not a bad chili in the bunch and all were so individual. So wonderful! And such a nice variety of contestants. Everyone has such a good time. We are so lucky to have such a nice group of people in our church who are willing to come out and serve. We get everyone-young families, and older ladies and everything in between-it's a beautiful thing!

I love how we have many different generations working together to serve the supper. Here's DD sharing a laugh with Darling Edna. She is such a champ-she washed dishes & pots and pans until the last spoon was sparkling! Oh and DD is pretty good too! She is such a kind and generous server.

Mmmm, good chili was had by all.

Deep Sigh... Whatcha Gonna Do?

I don't know what it's like in your neighborhood, but it's getting crazy with these gas prices! Two weeks ago I was pretty shocked to see 3.33 a gallon. Ouch!!!

But it just keeps getting worse and worse. 3.65 today. I'm in pain. You too I bet! Course it's snowing today too. And it wasn't 2 weeks ago, so go figure.
