I'm feeling like Mrs. Cleaver

It's been so cold, I just don't want to go anywhere. Just stay home and be domestic Hey, What is she making?????? I made cookies, Wally & The Beav...er, oh I mean Ben & Super Hubs Liked them very much!

My Mom's Goo-Losh

This is my Mom's goo-losh...yes I know that's not how it's supposed to be spelled, but it's the way we all SAID it when we were kids, and when I make this, it's just like when we were kids. You know how stuff never tastes the same as it used to? This is the total exception. It tases the same as I remember it tasting when I was a kid and Mom made it for us. She used to keep out a scoop of mac & cheese and a scoop of burger before it was all mixed together because Sister Julie didn't like Goo-Losh. What great stuff!

Frosty Cold Foggy

The view across the street at home, but look closely can you see that huge frost on the weather vane? If I was a better photographer, you'd probably be more impressed!Click on the picture to make it bigger...see! I knew you'd be impressed!

This is Deb, our Tastefully Simple demonstrator, Uber Daughter, Dannie, and Katie, our Pampered Chef Demonstrator. Uber daughter had a Pampered Chef Party combined with a Tastefully Simple party. What a great idea! Yummy TS food, and Yummy PC food, and cool tools too!See that big bowl in front of Dannie? MMMMMMM, yum, TS's Fiesta Party Dip.  Love the gadgets you know!

This is what I ordered-the pineapple cutter. It's the coolest tool ever!!!! Lucky for us Dannie just happened to have a pineapple on hand and by golly it worked pretty darn slick. It'll be at my house soon!

Lookie What I got for Christmas

So, I'm still enjoying my Christmas loot. Lookie what I got. It's a GIANT thread rack. I totally needed one of these, see I had one of the little baby ones(see the little feller on the left of the photo?) But this is really awesome, I even sort of sorted out a few spools!!

NEw Gadget-Sidewinder

So I saw this new sewing gadget, and as luck would have it Wonderful Mom already had it. The Sidewinder is a bobbin winder machine. The idea is you can wind your bobbins without using your sewing machine.
I like the idea, and the gadget works fine, I just wasn't thrilled with the result.

It seemed to wind the bobbin fuller at the top than at the bottom.See in the picture the black bobbin was wound on the Sidewinder, and the white bobbin on my sewing machine. I had a better result with short spools of thread like Coats & Clark spools. Taller spools like Guterman still were pretty lopsided.  Plus it winds counter clock-wise which is the opposite of my sewing machine, so that's a little hard to get used to. So I told Wonderful Mom that I'm glad she didn't pay full price for it, but it is still a mildly useful tool, I did wind a ton of bobbins before I started a quilting project, but heck I could have done that with my sewing machine. Either way you still have to unthread your sewing machine unless you have more than one spool of thread.
I give it a grade of C.

Ben & I made it to Aunt Francie & Ken's for the traditional Christmas Eve.

Here's Ben with Aunt Francie & My favorite Minnesotan, my cousin Robin
and all kinds of yumminess!

Across the street 3.1

This was the view on the day before Christmas, Just enough snow to say we have a white Christmas, then here we go later in the day, coming down pretty good, this is the view out my north window, can you see the snow coming down?

Merry Christmas on New Years Day

Since I've been having computer drama I'm pretty late showing off the tree this year. I went with red this time, I put the white tree up at the church with all it's pink-ness. It looked great too. It's funny, when Pastor asked for volunteers to decorate the church for Christmas, no one volunteered...I think it was a sign for me to bring on the pink-ness!
Anyways at home it's the red & white time. I made the paper chain out of light cardstock-but not light enough!! The links kept popping apart!
