So these are my hopes for 2009 for everyone.

It was pointed out by one of my co-workers (not to mention any names like RODEO DAVE) that I tend to start a lot of notes with "so". So I guess that's true. So why don't you go visit Ol' Dave and tell him I said so. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=82843426 (So I seem to have a little problem with links-so cut & paste, ok?)

It's The White TreeThis Year

I kinda rotate trees, I go through the green fake tree, then the white fake tree, then a real tree, then the green fake tree....well you get the idea. This year I went with bright jewel tones. I've been kind of sticking with one color the last few years so this is a nice change

The I always try to make some part of the theme too. This time it's the paper chain. I cut card stock in 3" wide strips then folded them in half the long way. Then used my 1 1/2" punch to punch along the fold. Then I used the 1" punch to make a hole in the middle. Then just unfold and link them together. Cuter than the original paper chain I think!

Here's the link (well I hope it's a link-I seem to be linkage impaired on this blog) to the aforementioned Peg's Shoppe --actually Common Threads Quilt Shoppe-- in North Liberty. She is just a wonderful lady and will help you with all sorts of fabric therapy.

Cute Cowboy Purse

The Winter 2008 issue of Quilts & more magazine had this pattern for a cute little purse. I had to try it out. It is a sweet little bag! and easy to make too. I think the next one I do I'll use peltex instead of the stiff interfacing. Here's a link to the magazine.

I love this cowboy fabric. It was a scrap I had left from making a scrub top for DD. It'd be cute in that sweet pink cowgirl fabric I got from Peg's shoppe in North Liberty too-I may have to see if she has any more of that next time I'm in there.

This is the silliest dog I know! Just look at her!

Christmas Craftyness

The annual church bazaar gives me a reason to make the cute stuff I see all the time.

Isn't his cute! I saw this idea on another blog here http://katiespaperhaven.blogspot.com/2008/11/craft-fair.html

So there are 2 hershey nuggets wrapped in "Hay" paper then baby Jesus on the top one in a "manger" with an away in a manger verse for fun.
